2017 was the year of the horseback travel in California. We booked our holiday to explore some of the most beautiful places in California by horseback. Thanks to our son and his good friend, we decided to try this out by riding an exciting trail around Calaveras Big Trees State Park, a world-famous destination because of it’s breathtaking beauty and spectacular views. The horses are trained by professional riders and they easily reach up to 45 miles per hour on the trails where they gallop across a quarter mile path along one of the tallest trees in California (Lozodora Mountain) bounding at an altitude of 6,000 feet. By jumping these steep hills, they can cover hundreds of acres at high speed while enjoying their majestic surroundings.
